Orientation at the Fraser Coast campus starts on Monday February 20 with a Welcome to USQ at 9.30am followed by the Learning the Balance session from 10.30am.
Students will have the chance to learn about the University, its support services, the role of Student Relationship Officers and that life at University doesn’t have to be scary.
After lunch new students will have the chance to attend their faculty information session from 1pm to 2.30pm where they will meet their academic staff and fellow faculty students. Further information about Orientation is available at

Orientation Week activities at the campus will enable students to give their bodies a good workout before firing up their brain cells for the year of study ahead.
The USQ Fraser Coast Student Guild has organised a mechanical surfboard and a gladiator challenge arena for students who want to put their fitness and motor skills to the test on the first day of O Week. (Monday February 20)
There will also be a range of market stalls providing free sno cones, candle-making and a barbecue.
Information stands will include: Rotaract, Organ Donation, Lifeline, PCYC, Qld Nurses’ Union, Qld Teachers’ Union, Qld Independent Education Union, the Electoral Commission and Westpac Bank.
Kelly Ralston, from the USQ Student Guild, said the activities provided students with the chance to let their hair down and have some fun before starting their university studies.
On Tuesday there will be a free pizza lunch as well as free seated massages.
‘Many students will be attending learning workshops so the free lunch and massage gives them a chance to unwind and relax for a while,’ Ms Ralston said.
Workshops run for 90 minutes and include: Learning the Basics – ICT Overview; Learning the USQ Study Desk; Learning the Ropes – Library Introduction; and Learning the Skills – Library LTS.
Students can register for any of the workshops via www.usq.edu.au and log on with student number and password.
O Week activities will be held from 11.30am to 1pm on Monday, February 20, and Tuesday, February 21.
On Thursday, February 23, the campus will host a Support Network Barbecue for new students and their families and friends. It will be held in the USQ Fraser Coast Executive Suite from 6pm to 7.30pm. Bookings are essential. Phone 4194 3133.
Orientation activities such as the market days, pizza lunch and network barbecue offer students the chance to meet other students and staff, as well as provide them with essential information for the start of the learning journey such as an introduction to the campus and its faculties, advice on support services and tips on how to succeed.
Those who are unable to attend the Fraser Coast Orientation can check out the
