Property management course at USQ Fraser Coast

The property course will be held
at USQ Fraser Coast

The Queensland president of the Australian Property Institute, Mike Hefferan, will lead a property management course in Hervey Bay this month.

The Property Industry Professional Development Course is a joint initiative of USQ and the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC).

The one-day course will be held at the USQ Fraser Coast campus on September 14. Participants are expected to include prospective developers, property professionals and consultants, commercial real estate agents and property managers, infrastructure managers, investors and industry decision-makers.

Dr Hefferan, who is the USC Professor of Property and Development, said the course would examine the economy and property markets, explain a range of analyses, techniques and methodologies, and explore issues confronting property professionals, owners and investors.

USC Property Lecturer and analyst Steven Boyd also will present at the course, which will use case studies based on the Fraser Coast.

Participants will be given comprehensive course material including a copy of Dr Hefferan’s recently released textbook, ‘An Introduction to Property Studies in Australia’.

'The textbook hopefully fills a gap in that it is not simply based on buying and selling house properties but also provides a wider understanding of how real property assets and markets work,' Dr Hefferan said.

'Real property is an area of interest for all – individual, business and the wider community. “The text, which does not assume detailed prior knowledge, provides a base for a better understanding of how the market works and how property decisions should be made.'
