Fraud training compulsory
Steve Ivey is urging all staff who have not completed Fraud and Corruption Training to do so immediately.
The Group Manager for Sustainable Business Management and Improvement said the compulsory training is an important control for any organisation.
“The 30 minute course aims to raise awareness that fraud can involve much more than the misappropriation of assets or money,” said Steve.
“By offering the training USQ is taking proactive measures to meet its regulatory obligations and decrease the risk of being the victim of fraud.
“To date, we have a 79 percent compliance rate for this training, but I am urging the remaining staff members to complete the online module as soon as possible.”
Staff member’s HR records will be updated on completion of the course. Steve said staff should also be aware that there is an obligation to report any incidents of non-compliance in regard to legislation, policy or contract obligations.
“USQ monitors risk across the university and fraud and corruption continue to be a high priority with appropriate mitigation strategies in place.
“Please advise your Supervisor in the first instance if you become aware of any issues. Alternatively you may contact the University Risk Manager on extension 2483 for any clarification.”
