USQ staff dress up for Hospice care

USQ staff ditched their regular work clothes in order to raise money for the Toowoomba Hospice last week (Friday July 30).
USQ staff raised over $2000 in the 2010 Free Dress Day Challenge which saw many sections dress up to help raise funds for the Hospice.
The Toowoomba Hospice provides palliative and respite care for Toowoomba’s terminally ill residents.
Mr Graham Barron OAM, Chairman of the Toowoomba Hospice said he appreciated USQ’s ongoing support.
'In the year’s we have been operating we have always have tremendous support from USQ,' Mr Barron said.
'The support that USQ has given to the Hospice and the Free Dress Day Challenge has been fantastic. The funds raised here will greatly assist the Hospice in raising the $1.3 million it takes to operate the facility each year.'
Ms Shelley Donnelly, USQ’s Council Administrative Officer has been an active supporter of the Hospice, giving up her spare time to raise money.
'It has been great to see USQ staff participating in this day,' Ms Donnelly said.
'The Toowoomba Hospice provides an important service to those in their final period of their life.'
Donations were given by staff and a barbecue and raffle were also held to raise money for the Toowoomba Hospice.
USQ has supported the Hospice for many years having originally assisted in raising money to establish the facility.
