USQ was ranked number one in Australia for support experience in the 2010 I-Graduate International Student Barometer Survey |
I-Graduate, an independent benchmarking and research organisation, surveyed 124,210 international students from 139 institutions worldwide which included 31,725 respondents in Australia from 30 universities.
The USQ survey response rate of 55% (960 students) was twice the Australian University average indicating strong willingness amongst USQ international students to contribute to USQ’s survey outcomes.
USQ was ranked number one in Australia for support experience receiving an extremely positive rating of 90.3% satisfaction based on the overall experience question.
Additionally, USQ was ranked second out of Australian universities for learning experience (85.6 percent overall satisfaction), living experience (79.3 percent overall satisfaction) and overall experience (85.1 percent satisfaction) based on the average of individual questions.
The survey was held during the first half of 2010 with many students commenting positively on services provided by the International and Student Support teams; the Finance Office, Computer Help Desk and the Residential Colleges. Counselling, careers and employment, student equity and disability services also featured highly within student opinion.
Mr Carl Rallings, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Management) was very pleased with the results saying that the hard work of USQ staff had made these results possible.
'The ISB is the largest annual study of international students in the world, and provides comparative insights to help target improvements for our international students, Mr Rallings said.
'Understanding international student needs is of critical importance and these results indicate that overall satisfaction with USQ is high, and that we continue to deliver a quality student experience'.
Mr Kevin Brett from I-Graduate will give USQ Toowoomba a presentation of the results on 13 September 2010.
