Community invited to exhibit at conference Market Day

What can you put here? Market Day organisers Jacquie McDonald and Mabbie Elson are looking for exhibitors.
The local community is invited to exhibit local products, art and crafts or information at the 2007 International Women’s Conference Market Day on Friday, 28 September 2007.

Held at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), the day will allow conference delegates from more than 20 different countries to purchase local items and receive information from the markets.

Market Coordinator Mabbie Elson said the Market Day is also a good opportunity for local people to showcase their products to an international audience.

'The markets will be great exposure for people from Toowoomba and surrounds,' Ms Elson said.

'It’s also a good opportunity for the conference delegates to take home something special from the conference in Toowoomba or access relevant information.'

Organisers are hoping to hear from organisations wanting to showcase local products, art and craft or information of interest to women. They are also looking to hear from people with products and services of different cultures.

'We’re looking for exhibitors with an international flavour. Toowoomba has a diverse multicultural community and we’d like to be able to show this.'

Market organisers have already received interest from a number of exhibitors keen to display their products to delegates.

'We’ve got Crows Nest Lavender coming along and they’ve got some lovely hand creams and face creams. We’ve also got jewellery stalls, Aboriginal art, a book stall and information for business women.'

Exhibits will be set up around the USQ Refectory with some outdoors and others spread out inside. The markets will run from 10am to 2pm.

People interested in exhibiting at the Market Day or attending the International Women's Conference can visit the website www.usq.edu.au/iwc2007 or contact Mabbie Elson on 0427 148 771. Applications to hold a stall close on Friday, August 31 2007.
