USQ Springfield campus Director Doug Fraser said January is a time when many people reconsider their options and enrol in university studies.

'Christmas is over and New Year’s resolutions have been made, so January is a time when people traditionally reflect on their lives and think about what they want to do next and how to make it happen,' Mr Fraser said.

'The Information Evening will give prospective students the opportunity to meet the academics who will teach them, talk about their career aspirations and find out about the enormous amount of support offered to them at this campus.

'Springfield campus is located in the Western Corridor and as such is at the epicentre of change in this region.

'It offers the best of both worlds for our students, a smaller campus where one-on-one support from lecturers is a given, not the exception and a chance to be part of the rapid growth of both the campus and area.'

Mr Fraser said the campus offered programs in law, business, engineering, psychology, applied media, accounting and sustainable business, education and project management amongst others.

'This year we are also offering two new majors in Journalism and Finance and the Bachelor of Construction,' he said.

The evening will begin at 5.30pm in the USQ Auditorium and will also include information on the USQ Tertiary Preparation Program for students without an OP and information on the pathways from TAFE to University.

'There will also be a sausage sizzle offered for prospective students and their families.

'There is still time to apply, enrol and begin studying in February, so I encourage anyone thinking about making a change in their lives to come to the evening and find out more about their options.'
