USQ Professor Wins Award of Distinction


The award was presented during the
APS Annual Conference in Canberra 
 

Faculty of Sciences academic, Professor Peter Terry, has been named the 2011 recipient of the Award of Distinction from the College of Sport and Exercise Psychologists of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

The award recognises outstanding contribution to a specialist field of psychology over a 10-year period through teaching, research, publication and/or the practice of psychology.

Professor Terry has been a university teacher for 27 years, and has spent the past 11 working at USQ.

He has produced 200 publications, as well as provided support to a number of renowned international athletes.

Peter served as President of the College of Sport and Exercise Psychologists from 2002-2006 and remained as a member of its executive committee until 2008. He was elected as a fellow of the APS in 2009.
