USQ hosts another successful Open Day in Toowoomba

Prospective students were treated to another successful Open Day at USQ Toowoomba Campus on Sunday August 15.

The event attracted people from throughout the region who were able to access a variety of information to help them make choices about their future study.

Ms Marianne Theios the event coordinator said that there was a very good response from prospective students.

'The USQ staff reported that there were a lot of genuine enquiries and the information sessions were well attended,' Ms Theios said.

Information sessions were held by all five faculties and other sessions were held on topics like How to Apply, choosing a career and information for parents.

Information booths were available for a range of areas including financial assistance; student services; and careers and employment

'The USQ support booths provided prospective students with some great information about how USQ supports its students and was busy throughout the day.'

'We received a lot of enquiries from people wanting to know how to apply to USQ – which was great.'

Faculty staff reported high levels of interest at the information booths and lecturers were available to answer any prospective students’ questions.

The campus was bustling and Ms Theios said the day was a success.

A range of activities were also held including, performances from the Ergon Energy Big Band, a show case of the nursing wards and a mock trial of Ned Kelly.

The next USQ Open Day will be held at the Springfield Campus on Sunday August 22 from 10am to 2pm.
