 USQ Printing Services staff celebrate winning numerous awards at the NIPPA Conference |
They may not be Commonwealth Games medallists, but USQ's Printing Services team has just as much reason to boast after bringing home a swag of gold, silver and bronze awards.
The Toowoomba-based team was awarded three gold awards, one silver and one bronze during the annual NIPPA (Network of In-house Print Professionals Australasia Inc) Conference on the Gold Coast on October 13-15.
NIPPA is Australasia’s peak printing services body and is dedicated exclusively to the needs of in-house publishing and printing professionals.
USQ Printing Services Operations Supervisor Sue Hills, who attended the conference with Production Supervisor Rodney Murphy, said representatives from universities, TAFE colleges, councils, government and law offices from all over Australia and New Zealand attended and competed during the event.
'Entries were submitted from work printed from June 1, 2009 until July 31, 2010 and were awarded for excellence in printing, both digital and offset,' Ms Hills said.
USQ Printing Services won gold in the categories of:
- Offset, books with any binding other than saddle stitching, for the Toowoomba Grammar School Annual Report;
- Offset, Books/Catalogues/Magazines with saddle stitch binding for the Les Miserable’s Programme; and
- Digital, Books/Catalogues/Magazines with saddle stitch binding for the Freckly Friends Booklet.
The team won silver in the category of Offset, Leaflets/Brochures, single page documents with or without folding for the Luxury Paints Brochure, as well as bronze in the category of Digital, Books with any binding other than saddle stitching for the Queensland Credit Union Corporate Style Guide.
The conference provided innovative and professional solutions for all types and sizes of in-house printing businesses and featured a range of speakers who focused on business, sales, environmental and technical issues.
