Project S prepares to go live!
Project S will go live later this month
|
USQ is preparing to usher in a new digital phase when the University’s exciting Project S goes live later this month.
In a bid to simplify systems and remain up-to-date with the latest technologies, the Staff and Student Support Systems Project (Project S) has seen the University’s digital management and support systems undergo a complete restructure.
Project S is the biggest overhaul of the electronic support systems in the University’s history. The change will provide staff and students with the use of technology aimed at centralising and customising their use of online resources.
USQ’s Vice Chancellor,
Professor Bill Lovegrove said the choice to move to the new systems was based on the University’s commitment to providing its staff and students with the most up-to-date and comprehensive technologies.
'Project S will provide staff and students with a wide range of new systems that will offer them better functionality and greater ease of operation.'
'USQ’s staff and students will also have the ability to access all the systems they require to do their work, in the same way banks have developed an online one-stop-shop to allow customers to access all their information via the web.'
'USQ is committed to leading the way in distance education, so to adopt systems that provide staff and students with greater capabilities and a more streamlined approach to managing information is part of this vision,' Professor Lovegrove said.
A team of experts from across the University have been working in consultation with staff and students on the project for almost 12 months.
In operational terms, the new system will allow students to:
• Access information and services at any time, anywhere in the world via the internet
• Access real time invoices online
• Access and organise all their online services that are available to them
Staff will also be given access to new systems that will provide them with the ability to:
• Manage employee profiles including leave requests
• Update personal information including bank details, submit leave requests
• Academic staff will be able to access student information, enter grades online and access class lists from one central location.
