USQ’s commitment to equality was again showcased when the Status of Women in Employment and Education Committee (SWEE) celebrated the recent successes of USQ women during a lunch held last week (30 March 2011).

The lunch not only celebrated and marked the continuing success of women at the University, but also reaffirmed its obligation to staff development and achievement.

Professor Ronel Erwee, Chair of SWEE, said USQ women have contributed to enhance the lives of students and have been deserving recipients of Equity Incentive funds, scholarships and promotions.

'We are capitalising on your success,' Professor Erwee said.

'There are such a lot of high achieving women and this was a chance to get all the high achievers together and celebrate.'

Chair of the University’s Promotion Panel Professor Graham Baker attended the lunch and said USQ was committed to enhancing career planning and development opportunities for women employees.

Professor Baker also said USQ has highly successful female staff across all ranks, and he encouraged women at USQ to continue to apply for grants and promotion.
