Graphic designer receives award

Congratulations to Zoe Lynch who was awarded the prestigious Bob Walker Award from the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE at a recent graduation ceremony.

Zoe is Multimedia e-Learning Developer in the University's Graphic Department, and received the award after completing two Diploma's in multimedia and screen.

"I was very honoured that my teacher (Rod Smart) thought I deserved such prestigious recognition, as it's a very hard award to earn from what I understand. I'd completed two Diplomas with him and I was so happy that my hard work over the two years had been recognised,' she said.

'The award, from what I was told, is for hard work, diligence and outstanding excellence. So for me to even be nominated was very humbling but to then win it was an amazing experience, that people do actually notice when you go above and beyond what you're required to do, and they appreciate it.'

Zoe said she is enjoing working at the University.

'I love my work at the USQ. It's different every day so it keeps it interesting and challenging which is what I like.'
