Carol elected President of AURIMS

Carol McCabe, Manager of the University’s Business Continuity and Risk Management area, was recently elected President of the Australasian Universities Risk and Insurance Management Society (AURIMS).

Carol attended the AURIMS recent Conference where she was elected President for the next two years.

All Australian and New Zealand universities are members of AURIMS, with some international members from the Asia Pacific region. It is highly regarded in the Risk and Insurance field and has extremely relevant annual conferences.

Carol said this year‘s theme was Research Risk.

'It was very exciting for the members to see and meet real researchers in the field and hear their stories, including the dangers of freezer and data losses,' she said.

'We work hand in hand with URMIA in the United States, which is our sister organisation and exchange information on a regular basis.'
