Established in 1985, the popular Ergon Energy Big Band draws its membership largely from the music student body of the University, together with a speckling of Alumni and community players.

With the tremendous support of Ergon Energy, the Band enjoys an active and far-reaching performance season including regional tours, school workshops, professional and charity appearances.

Highlights of the 2007 season included regional tours to Ballandean, Clifton and St George, and a very memorable concert in the Empire Theatre. Australian singer, songwriter, actor, multiple ARIA award-winner, Kate Ceberano joined the Band along with renowned Australian musician, Kerin Bailey on keyboard for a sell-out concert.

This year, the Band will be 'on-the-road' again, focussing their attention on an extended touring season including trips as far-a-field as Quilpie, Roma, Charleville, Millmerran, Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Ballendean, and local appearances at the USQ Graduations, Carnival of Flowers and USQ Open Days.
