About planning, quality and review
Strategic planning
Strategic Planning at USQ sets the organisational agenda, Organisational Goal Plans guide the operationalisation of the Strategic Plan for each Organisational Goal area which are then framed through Faculty/Section Planning and enacted in the annual Operational and Resource Management Plans.
The University's progress in pursuing each organisational goal is led by a nominated Executive Portfolio Steward who is responsible for coordinating and driving enterprise effort for their goal area and monitoring and reporting progress towards agreed targets.
Review and benchmarking
Review and monitoring are essential features of the institutional quality cycle providing an evidence-base for quality improvement. The policy on reviews determines that sections and processes are reviewed in five-year cycles. The review procedures are evidence-based and benchmarked against external reference points through the appointment of external review panels.
The review process is conducted in the spirit of modern quality management approaches:
-
involving a no blame environment
-
reviewing the process as a whole rather than individuals
-
being supportive of staff involved in managing the process
-
performed in the interest of continuous improvement
-
identifying solutions and
-
geared towards a celebration of achievements.
