Australian Graduate Survey

The Australian Graduate Survey (AGS) is a combination of three different surveys - the Graduate Destination Survey (GDS) with the Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) and the Postgraduate Research Experience Questionnaire (PREQ). Graduate Careers Australia have responsibility for the survey and coordination with institutions.

  • Each year it is sent to all Australian university graduates to collect information about their experience, employment and further study.
  • The AGS is administered approximately four months after completing requirements for a degree.
  • Each institution coordinates the collection of data and distribution of results.
  • A Standard Recommended Methodology detailing the timing and tasks involved is maintained by Graduate Careers Australia.
  • A Code of Practice is in place to cover the use of the data.
  • Universities must obtain a 50% response rate to be included in the National Data.

Graduate Destination Survey (GDS)

The GDS asks respondents:

  • program details
  • their labour market status
  • details of employment
  • details on further study.

Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ)

Each year USQ, along with other Australian higher educational institutions, surveys recent graduates about their course/program experiences. The data from the CEQ is used internally to report on the quality of our programs.

The CEQ is used to gauge graduates experiences on a number of course related dimensions:

  • The Good Teaching Scale
  • Generic Skills Scale
  • Overall Satisfaction Indicator.

How do you complete the survey?

We are starting to collect the survey at Graduation Ceremonies. If you do not complete the survey at your Graduation or you are not attending a Graduation Ceremony, you will be contacted by email and post with details for completing the survey.

Questions about the delivery and implementation of CEQ at USQ should be directed to Justine Fritsch.
