Publications Data Collection

Each year, the Office of Research and Higher Degrees (ORHD) organises and oversees the collection of data relating to a wide range of publications by research staff and students undertaken in the preceding calendar year.

The objective of this annual collection is to:

  • understand the scope of research activities undertaken at USQ

  • publish the findings in USQ ePrints

  • comply with the requirements of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC), which determines allocations of research funding for Internal Research Grants and the Research Training Scheme (RTS).

Publication categories

USQ collects information on various publication categories, however only four of these categories enables the University to receive Commonwealth funding. Publications that do not meet the specifications for DEEWR categories will be included in USQ ePrints.

It is the responsibility of each faculty and section to collate the publications produced by their staff and students and forward the findings to the ORHD using the following guidelines and forms.
