Classification codesThe following classifications have been developed for use in the measurement and analysis of research and experimental development undertaken in Australia, both in the public and private sectors. When requesting a new project to be added to PeopleSoft, staff are required to include these codes on the New USQ Project form where the new project relates to Research. Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) CodesThe SEO Classification Codes allow research and experimental development data to be classified according to the perceived purpose. The SEO categories take account of processes, products, health, education and other social and environmental aspects of particular interest. Research Fields, Courses and Disciplines (RFCD) CodesThe FoR Classification Codes allow both research and experimental development activity and other activity within the higher education sector to be categorised according to the field of research undertaken. In this respect, it is the nature of the research and experimental development, which is being examined.
