Grants and contracts

The Office of Research and Higher Degrees (ORHD) provides information and advice on a variety of internal and external funding opportunities for researchers at USQ. All research grant applications being submitted by USQ must be submitted through the ORHD.

Research grants

The research grants team:

  • advertises and provides assistance with external funding opportunities (see the funding calendar
  • advertises and provides assistance with internal funding opportunities 
  • provides assistance and advice on applying for funding 
  • receives funding applications and proof reads, checks adherence to guidelines (including eligibility), grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and ensures all relevant and requested attachments are provided 
  • ensures all required signatures have been obtained and submission criteria are met 
  • assists with submitting your grant 
  • assists with managing your grant.

Research contracts

The research contracts team:

  • receives and prepares funding contracts (see contract management flowchart) and submits them to the Legal Office for review, approval and sign-off 
  • forwards signed agreements to the funding body and other partners/collaborators and ensures sign-off by all parties
  • receives fully signed contracts/agreements from partners/collaborators/funding bodies and forwards the original to the Legal Office; copies are retained by ORHD and Finance is notified to open a project account.
