Internal funding opportunities

USQ offers a number of internal research grants to staff throughout the year.

Early career researcher program (ECRP)

This program supports on a competitive basis, early career researchers with a demonstrated research capacity who have little or no experience in applying for financial support and conducting funded research. The support of this program will identify the applicant as a member of a research group at USQ and enable the publication of their research outcomes that will assist the researcher in the development of a research track record and enhance future applications for research funding support.

Research infrastructure program (RIP)

This program provides financial support for research infrastructure which will facilitate the performance of effective research. Priority will be given to applications submitted by staff from the University Centres. These funds are available to supplement contributions to the development of infrastructure which derive from faculty budgets and infrastructure developed with the help of external grant funds.

Mid career research fellows (currently closed)

USQ is investing in people, through targeted recruitment in USQ’s areas of research concentration and is offering generous support and infrastructure for Mid-Career Research Fellows (5-15 years post PhD). An ongoing academic position as a Mid-Career Research Fellow at the University of Southern Queensland could be the career boost that you have been searching for.

Research excellence award (not available 2012)

The University annually grants awards for Research Excellence to members of the University staff who are ‘early career researchers/scholars’ or have extensive research careers and who have demonstrated excellence in research, scholarship or postgraduate research supervision.
