Graduation

Before your research degree can be awarded at a graduation ceremony, your degree must approved for provisional awarding by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Scholarship) and you will be required to supply your final requirements to the Office of Research and Higher Degrees (ORHD).

Once you have submitted all requirements to ORHD, your final grade will be amended and your degree will be approved to be awarded at the next graduation ceremony. Your final permanently bound copies will be returned to your Faculty to be distributed as follows:

  1. one copy to the Dean of the Faculty
  2. one copy to the Principal Supervisor
  3. one copy to the USQ Library
  4. any remaining copies returned to you

The graduates checklist (DOC 43KB) outlining the requirements of the final copies is available to assist with ensuring you have met the final requirements.

Preparing for graduation

Please refer to the Graduations website for information on ceremonies which are held across a number of local, regional, national and international locations.

The Graduations Office will forward a graduation pack (Grad Pack) to you. This will normally occur after the grade release date, and will contain information relating to:

  • ceremony dates and location
  • your official academic transcript
  • your Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS).

You will be expected to:

  • submit an online Graduate Response Form via UConnect to indicate the number of guests expected to attend, and to nominate the ceremony you wish to attend or if you prefer your degree to be mailed to you. Note: Please allow 10 working days for this to be processed following submission of ALL of the final requirements.

You will be contacted by the Graduations Office closer to the ceremony date to discuss your academic dress requirements and the graduation day proceedings.
