Before your research degree can be awarded at a graduation ceremony, your degree must approved for provisional awarding by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) and you will be required to supply your final requirements to the Office of Research Graduate Studies (ORGS).

Once you have submitted all requirements to ORGS, your final grade will be amended and your degree will be approved to be awarded at the next graduation ceremony.

Preparing for graduation

Please refer to the Graduations website for information on ceremonies which are held across a number of local, regional, national and international locations.

The Graduations Office will forward a graduation pack (Grad Pack) to you. This will normally occur after the grade release date, and will contain information relating to:

  • ceremony dates and location
  • your official academic transcript
  • your Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS).

If you would like to attend a graduation ceremony you must complete your online Graduate Response Form available at UConnect > UDo > Student Centre > Self Service > Graduation > Graduation Ceremony Response. You must complete this online process indicating your attendance at a ceremony.

Please note that if you cannot attend a graduation ceremony and would like to have your testamur mailed, you also need to complete the online Graduate Response Form.

The online Graduate Response Form is accessible from your Student Centre once you have been identified as being eligible to graduate after official results have been released.

You will be contacted by the Graduations Office closer to the ceremony date to discuss your academic dress requirements and the graduation day proceedings.
