Planning

The Section coordinates planning at USQ through a Planning framework (PDF * 62KB) within which a series of linked plans guide the implementation of the University's strategic priorities.

This framework consists of:

  • USQ Visison 2022
  • the University's Strategic Plan 2013-2015
  • the University’s Internal Strategic Plan 2013-2015 which sets targets benchmarked against publicly available sector-wide performance data and provides a synopsis of corporate risk and
  • a cascading model in which the strategic priorities and targets are used to drive the operational plans and key performance indicators within University-wide themes of
    • Personalised Learning
    • Focused Research
    • Enriched Communities
    • Engaged Enterprise.

The USQ Vision 2022 sets out the broad, long-term strategic direction of the university, with the Strategic Plan(s) 2013-2015 providing the first of three triennial plans to realise its stated objectives. Thus, the purpose of the planning section is to ensure alignment of organisational strategies with key activities and actions, and to provide the data and capacity to inform the decision making process for the allocation of resources in pursuit of strategic priorities.
The Planning Section coordinates and supports processes between planning layers, from strategy through to operational levels. The section provides input in the collation of data to inform each level of planning and its work aligns with load management and budgetary methodologies.
