Reporting to Government

Under the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (HESA), USQ and all other higher education providers are required to provide the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE) with statistical information about our students and staff. DIISRTE will use the collected data for CGS founding allocation, student entitlements calculation, student debts report to ATO and for publications and other statistics.

To fulfill our statutory reporting obligations, SBMI is responsible for submitting students, staff and university applications and offers data to DIISRTE before the reporting deadlines.

Higher education student data collects information about:

  • all offered programs
  • all offered programs at campus level
  • all students’ enrolments and load
  • students who receive SA-HELP and/or OS-HELP loans
  • all students’ academic results
  • all graduated students
  • all Commonwealth scholarship offers and current recipients
  • revisions.

Higher education staff data collects information about:

  • all full-time and part-time staff
  • numbers of estimated casual staff
  • all actual casual staff.

University applications and offers data collects information about:

  • application details
  • preference details
  • offer details.
