Strategic analysis

Strategic analysis involves with data collection, data maintenance, data manipulation, data analysis and projection processes. Quality data analysis requires reliable, accurate data and within time constraints. SBMI aims to provide high quality statistical data and effective analysis to internal and external bodies in a timely manner. The statistical data is served for internal ad hoc queries, student load projections, operational and strategic business planning and decision making at all levels cross the university, such as, enterprise, faculties, departments, administrative sections, individual staff and students. It is also used for responding ad hoc queries and legislative requirements from external government bodies, such as DIISRTE and ATO.

Services provided

  • collect historical government submission data as at census dates to ensure the consistence and reliability of source data for enquiry, reporting, planning, and projections
  • verify the collected statistical data to maintain an accurate and integrated database
  • monitor student enrolments and Load data on weekly basis against the student load targets and the last year’s enrolments and load data
  • respond ad hoc queries from internal and external on a timely manner
  • analyse historical data for assisting faculties’ performance review
  • analyse historical data for supporting institution wide projects and research
  • provide strategic analysis to senior executives and committees for planning and decision-making
  • forecast student load to USQ users to support planning and business decisions
  • support to the budgetary resource allocation process
  • report to academic governance and management
  • report to Government for fulfilling our statutory reporting obligations.
