Faculty of Business Year 12 High Achiever Scholarships
The Faculty of Business will offer ten scholarships for full-time on-campus students enrolling in any Degree program offered by the Faculty in 2009. The scholarships will reward students for their excellent academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership qualities, community involvement and personal characteristics.
These scholarships will be awarded to:

six students studying at the Toowoomba Campus
-
three students studying at the Springfield Campus
-
one student studying at the Fraser Coast Campus.
Scholarship value
Each scholarship will have a value of $12,000. This will be paid in stipends according to the duration of the student’s program.
Students undertaking a three year Degree program will receive:
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s first year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 2 (during the student’s first year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s second year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 2 (during the student’s second year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s third year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 2 (during the student’s third year of study).
Students undertaking a four year Degree program will receive:

$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s first year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 2 (during the student’s first year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s second year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s third year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s fourth year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 2 (during the student’s fourth year of study).
Students undertaking a five year Degree program will receive:

$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s first year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s second year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s third year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s fourth year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 1 (during the student’s fifth year of study)
-
$2,000 after the census date for semester 2 (during the student’s fifth year of study).
Eligibility
-
Applicants must:
-
be citizens of Australia or have permanent resident status
-
have completed Year 12 in 2008
-
commence their studies, full-time on-campus, in Semester One 2009.
Conditions
-
Applicants for degree and combined degree programs offered by the Faculty of Business are eligible for the scholarships.

The scholarship may be forfeited if:
-
the recipient changes their mode of study from on-campus to external or from full-time to part-time study
-
the recipient changes their program of study to a program offered by another Faculty
-
the recipient cancels their enrolment in the program
-
the recipient fails any course in the program.
-
Where recipients of scholarships change their program of study to another degree program offered by the Faculty of Business, the scholarship will be retained.

The scholarship will be paid directly to the student in instalments according to the duration of their program (as per above).

The scholarship winners are required to participate in a limited number of promotional activities on behalf of the Faculty and the University during the duration of their scholarship.

In deciding successful scholarship recipients, the Faculty will satisfy the scholarship conditions and also reserves the right to take into account other relevant matters, including awarding scholarships across the range of the Faculty’s programs.

Scholarships are not transferable to other students in any circumstances.

The Faculty reserves the right not to award all or some of the scholarships in a given year.
Selection criteria
Applicants must:
-
have applied for enrolment in a degree or combined degree program offered by the Faculty of Business
-
have achieved an OP 1-5 in year 12 in 2008
-
demonstrate excellent academic or non-academic achievement. Non-academic achievement could include community involvement, leadership qualities, extracurricular activities, etc
-
have met the course pre-requisite requirements for entry.
