Ergon Energy Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2000 and is maintained by an annual gift of $1,000 from Ergon Energy to encourage undergraduate study in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The scholarship will be offered to a full-time on-campus student enrolling in 2009 in either the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) or one of the combined degrees offered through the Faculty with a major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Scholarship value

The Scholarship will have a value of $1,000 and be awarded for one year only.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be citizens of Australia or have permanent resident status
  • have completed Year 12 in 2008
  • commence their studies with USQ in Semester One 2009
  • have a high level of academic achievement in Year 12 (usually demonstrated by an OP 1 - 4), but consideration will also be given to other school, community or sporting activities
  • have met the subject pre-requisites of entry.

Conditions

Applicants for the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), or a combined degree offered through the Faculty with a major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, are eligible for the scholarship.

  • The scholarship will be forfeited if:
    • the recipient changes their mode of study from on-campus study to external study or from full-time to part-time study
    • the recipient changes their program of study to another degree program or changes their major of study to another major
    • the recipient cancels their enrolment in the program
    • the recipient fails any course in the program.
  • Where the recipient of the scholarship changes their program of study to another program offered by the faculty, the scholarship will be retained providing they are still undertaking the Electrical and Electronic Engineering major.
  • If the recipient of the scholarship is enrolled in a combined degree program, he/she must adhere to the recommended enrolment pattern.
  • The scholarship will be paid directly to the student as a stipend.
  • The scholarship is not transferable to another student under any circumstances.
  • The Faculty, in conjunction with the donors, reserves the right not to award the scholarship in a given year.
