USQ Springfield The Bremer Institute of TAFE Scholarship
USQ Springfield will offer three USQ Springfield–The Bremer Institute of TAFE Scholarships to undergraduate students commencing full-time or part-time on-campus study at USQ Springfield Campus. All eligible students must have been enrolled in Bremer TAFE in 2008.
Bremer TAFE was selected as the number 1 Australian Large Training Provider of the Year in 2006.
Scholarship value
Each scholarship will have a value of $1,000 per year for three years of the student’s studies at USQ Springfield. This will be paid in a stipend of $500 per semester after the last date to drop Semester One courses, and again for Semester Two courses for each of the 3 years they receive this scholarship.
Eligibility
Applicants must:

be citizens of Australia or have permanent resident status;

start their studies at USQ Springfield full-time or part-time in 2009 and have been enrolled in Bremer TAFE in 2008
-
matriculate in any USQ Springfield program via on-campus study

obtain a selection entry rank of at least 82, or an OP 10
-
submit a 250 word essay detailing their career aspirations
-
maintain a 5.5 GPA while studying at USQ Springfield to continue receiving this scholarship.
Conditions

The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient by electronic funds transfer (EFT) as a stipend of $500 per semester after the last date to drop courses for each Semester.

Scholarships are not transferable to other students in any circumstances.

USQ reserves the right to not award all or some of the scholarship in a given year.

The scholarship will be forfeited if:

the recipient changes their mode of study from on-campus to external
-
the recipient defers their program of study
-
the recipient decides to study at another USQ Campus
-
the recipient withdraws from study at USQ
-
the recipient fails to maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 5.5.

Scholarship recipients may be asked to serve 20 hours each year of their scholarship assisting to promote USQ Springfield, as required by the Marketing and Public Relations Department.

Recipients may be asked to participate in focus group research.

Maximum of ten short-listed applicants.

Three scholarships will be awarded each year to the most outstanding applicant from USQ Springfield Campus.
Selection criteria
Applicants must:
-
obtain a selection entry rank of at least 82, or an OP 10
-
have been actively involved in extra-curricular and community activities
-
have been enrolled at Bremer TAFE during 2008
-
be pursuing an undergraduate degree either part-time or full-time, on-campus at USQ Springfield.

Applicants must complete the USQ Scholarship Application Form 2009 (PDF* 154 KB) and forward the application to the Scholarships Officer, Student Services, USQ, Toowoomba QLD 4350.
Applications are due by Friday 16 January 2009.
