USQ Equity Scholarships

USQ will award a number of Equity Scholarships in 2012.

Scholarship value

The scheme provides for two different award options:

1. a new laptop computer (minimum software provided); OR
2. $750 book bursary (USQ Bookshop).

Eligibility

Applicants must:

be enrolled in an undergraduate program (Bachelor degree, Associate Degree, Diploma)
be either a continuing or commencing student
be studying full-time (3-4 Study Units/semester) except if exceptional personal circumstances prevent full-time study
Australian citizen or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa

The Government funding received for this scholarship stipulates that students who are Permanent Residents or International students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

The USQ Equity Scholarships aim is to assist:

rural and regional students
those experiencing financial hardship
Indigenous Australians
those from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds (NESB)
students with a disability or medical condition
students enrolled in non-traditional areas of study, based on gender.

This is a merit-based, non-repayable scheme and targets students experiencing financial hardship. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis.

How to apply in Semester 1, 2012

To apply for this Scholarship you must complete the USQ Equity Scholarships Application form (PDF* 126KB) and post with all supporting documentation to:

Closing Date

Applications for Semester 1, 2012 must be received by 5pm, Friday 2 March 2012.

How will I know the outcome of my application?

You will receive an email to your USQ email address from the USQ Scholarship Officer after the last day to drop courses for that semester advising you of the outcome of your application.

For Semester 1, 2012 applications - notification will be sent mid-April 2012. Expected date of delivery of Laptops is May 2012.
