Frequently asked questionsWhat is the application closing date? The application closing date is the date that scholarship applications must be received by USQ. If you are mailing your scholarship application, please allow enough time for posting and delays. Can I apply for more than one scholarship? You are welcome to apply for as many scholarships for which you meet the criteria. You will need to complete a separate application form for each scholarship. Documents you provide in support of your application must be copied and attached to each application form. What if I'm offered more than one scholarship? Applicants may accept only one USQ scholarship. If offered more than one, applicants should choose which USQ scholarship to accept. However, there are some exceptions. If I defer my program, can I defer my scholarship? Generally no, but the School Partners Program Scholarship is an exception. It is important to contact your relevant faculty before you defer your program as some program-specific scholarships may be able to be deferred. I have lodged my application with QTAC and not included USQ in my preferences. Can I still apply for a USQ scholarship? Is my scholarship considered income by the Australian Government? Yes, Centrelink considers scholarships as income (except for Commonwealth Scholarships). You should speak to Centrelink to determine the impact of a scholarship on your individual Centrelink entitlements. The Australian Taxation Office generally exempts scholarships from tax.
