International Women's Conference Scholarship

The USQ Women's Network will offer a scholarship for a female student commencing a bachelor degree in 2010.

This scholarship provides for two different award options:

  1. A new laptop computer (minimum software provided) OR
  2. $750 book bursary (USQ Bookshop) in semester 1 and again in semester 2.

The Scholarship will be either:

  • for a laptop of the approximate value of $1,500 awarded once within a 12 month period, or alternatively, 
  • two scholarships of a maximum amount of $750 available once each in Semester 1 and 2. The scholarship will be awarded after commencement of the relevant semesters of study.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be female citizens of Australia or have permanent resident status
  • commence their degree at USQ in Semester 1 2010.

Conditions

  • The scholarship may be forfeited if:
    • the recipient defers their program of study
    • the recipient withdraws from study at USQ
    • the recipient fails to maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 4.5.
  • The $750 book bursary option will remain valid for 2010 only.
  • Any unused funds will be forfeited at the completion of the 2010 academic year.
  • Scholarships are not transferable to other students in any circumstances.
  • USQ reserves the right to not award all or some of the scholarships in a given year.
  • The maximum value of this scholarship is $1,500.

Selection criteria

Applicants must:

  • be female
  • demonstrate financial hardship that may adversely affect the completion of their degree program and
  • have a high level of achievement in Year 12, or demonstrate a high level of achievement in previous studies.
