Postgraduate research scholarships
Collaborative Research Network PhD Scholarships
This is a rare opportunity for students looking to progress their career by engaging in research in digital futures, one of the most quickly developing areas of social interaction and impact in society today. Successful applicants will contribute to the enhancement of world class research programs at USQ in collaboration with experienced, high quality researchers at ANU and UniSA.
The Brazil Family Foundation PhD Scholarship
USQ and the Brazil Family Foundation are offering a scholarship to carry out research in the area of the economics of stable or decreasing populations. The successful applicant would be expected to develop and complete a research project that considered the economic implications for a nation, of having no population growth or a decrease in the population over time.
International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (Closed)
International Postgraduate Research Scholarship is available to international PhD students who will undertake quality research (fundamental or applied) in areas of research specialisation at USQ. The Australian Government pays the tuition fees and required health insurance premiums for successful IPRS applicants. USQ provides a fortnightly stipend to contribute towards scholarship holders' living expenses. Full-time on-campus attendance is required.
Australian Postgraduate Awards (Closed)
Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) scholarships are awarded to students of exceptional research potential undertaking a Higher Degree by Research (Doctor of Philosophy). Recipients of these awards will receive a stipend and will be allocated a place funded by the Research Training Scheme (RTS).
USQ Postgraduate Research Scholarship (Closed)
USQ Postgraduate Research Scholarships are available to current (those who have been enrolled for six (6) months or less) or future students who are, or intend to be enrolled full-time in a PhD. This scholarship offers a stipend equivalent to that of the Australian Postgraduate Award Scheme and, pending satisfactory progress will continue for the duration of the candidature, usually three (3) years for doctoral studies.
Faculty of Engineering and Surveying Postgraduate Research Scholarships (Closed)
The Faculty of Engineering and Surveying Postgraduate Research Scholarships are awarded to new students of exceptional research potential undertaking a Higher Degree by Research (Doctor of Philosophy). The proposed study should be within the research area identified by the Faculty of Engineering and Surveying. Recipients of these awards will receive a stipend, and Australian and New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents will be allocated a place funded by the Research Training Scheme (RTS). Other international candidates will be liable for tuition fees.
The Gowrie Scholarship Trust Fund
The Gowrie Scholarship Trust Fund has been established to assist direct descendants of members of the defence force to aid with their research study. This fund provides a stipend of $4 000 per year over two (2) years.
The Great Artesian Basin (GAB) Scholarship
Students pursuing a PhD in the Social Sciences, Economics, Engineering or Sciences area and interested in contributing to the managament of an Iconic Water resource may consider applying for the the Great Artesian Basin (GAB) Scholarship. Two Scholarship each valued at $5000 per annum over three years will awarded as PhD top-up scholarships and is intended to supplement the funding of primary scholarship holders conducting innovative research that will make a contribution to the management of GAB
Postgraduate coursework scholarships
Faculty of Business Postgraduate Equity scholarships
The Faculty of Business will offer ta number of postgraduate scholarships for on-campus or external students enrolling in or enrolled in any postgraduate (coursework) Masters Degree or a Postgraduate Certificate in Management program offered by the Faculty.
USQ Master of Education Scholarship - $2 000
The Faculty of Education will offer jointly sponsored Faculty of Education and Education Queensland scholarships for students commencing a Master of Education degree program.
Greenwood - Tomkys Fund Masters of Midwifery (MMID) Scholarship - $5,000
Each year, USQ Faculty of Sciences will offer one (1) Greenwood - Tomkys Fund Masters of Midwifery (MMID) Scholarship to a registered nurse enrolled as a student in a Masters of Midwifery at USQ.
International postgraduate coursework scholarships
Vice-Chancellor's International Postgraduate Scholarships - $5 000
USQ will offer two scholarships for international students commencing a full-time postgraduate degree via on-campus study.
