The following scholarships are available for postgraduate students:
Postgraduate business coursework scholarships
Faculty of Business Postgraduate Equity scholarships
The Faculty of Business will offer ten postgraduate scholarships for on-campus or external students enrolling in or enrolled in any postgraduate (coursework) Masters Degree or a Postgraduate Certificate in Management program offered by the Faculty.
USQ Master of Education Scholarship - $2,000
The Faculty of Education will offer two jointly sponsored Faculty of Education and Education Queensland scholarships for students commencing a Master of Education degree program in 2009.
International Postgraduate coursework scholarships
Vice-Chancellor's International Postgraduate Scholarships - $1,000
USQ will offer a number of scholarships for international students commencing a full-time postgraduate degree via on-campus study.

Postgraduate Research scholarships
Australian Postgraduate Awards
Students of exceptional research promise who are or intend to be to enrolled full-time in a PhD by research are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Recipients of these awards will receive a stipend and will be allocated a place funded by the Research Training Scheme (RTS). Scholarships open till 31 October 2008.
USQ Postgraduate Research Scholarship
Current (those who have been enrolled for 6 months or less) or future students who are or intend to be to enrolled full-time in a PhD by research are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship offers a stipend equivalent to that of the Australian Postgraduate Award Scheme and, pending satisfactory progress, will continue for the normal duration of the candidature, 3 years for doctoral studies. Scholarships open till 31 October 2008.
Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship
PhD level overseas students who will undertake quality research (fundamental or applied) in areas of research specialisation at USQ. The Australian Government pays the tuition fees and required health insurance premiums for successful IPRS applicants. USQ provides a fortnightly stipend to contribute towards scholarship holders’ living expenses. Full-time on-campus attendance is required. Scholarships open till 31 October 2008.
The Gowrie Scholarship Trust Fund
This fund has been established to assist members of the defence forces and direct descendants of members of the defence force to aid with their research study. This fund provides a stipend of $4000 per year over two years.
Faculty of Engineering and Surveying International Postgraduate Scholarships
USQ Faculty of Engineering and Surveying will be offering a number of scholarships to commencing International students who intend to undertake a Master of Engineering, Engineering Research PhD or Master of Engineering Technology full-time, on-campus at USQ.

Toowoomba Regional Council Postgraduate Award scholarship
The TRC Postgraduate Award for storm water research is available to a student of exceptional research potential undertaking a Higher Degree by Research (Doctor of Philosophy or Master of Engineering) in the specific field of stormwater management. The recipient of this award will receive a stipend funded by Toowoomba Regional Council and will be directly involved in a research project investigating the treatment of urban stormwater for re-use based at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Toowoomba. This project is a joint research effort between USQ, Toowoomba Regional Council and Ipswich Water.

PhD Scholarship in Machine Vision for Agricultural Applications
A scholarship is offered for PhD study in the area of Machine Vision and related measurement. This relates to the assessment and monitoring of the condition of cattle. Data will automatically be gathered of weight, shape and ID tag number. From these, methods will be derived for assessing weight from shape and parentage of calves from their association with the cow they habitually follow, among other significant parameters. The researcher will devise and integrate many of the techniques to be used in the process. The task will call for skills in software writing, analysis of vision data and electronic signal processing and interfacing.

PhD Scholarship in Sustainable Business
The scholarship is for an eligible student to study on campus at USQ in the areas of Management of sustainability, economics and policy, sustainable development, governance and government and education, engagement and capacity building.The scholarship recipient will work with world leaders in this domain.

ARC Linkage Project - IT Service Management Research
The ARC Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) – Information Technology (APAI-IT) scholarship is available to a student of exceptional research potential undertaking a Higher Degree by Research (Doctor of Philosophy) in the specific field of IT service management. The recipient of this award will receive a stipend jointly funded by the Australian Research Council and Queensland Health. The project will develop a performance measurement framework of IT service management to improve crucial IT infrastructure in private and public sector organisations. This project is a joint research effort between USQ, Queensland Health, and the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) Australia.
