Faculty of Business Postgraduate Equity scholarships
The Faculty of Business will offer ten postgraduate Equity scholarships for on-campus or external students enrolling in or enrolled in any postgraduate (coursework) Masters Degree or a Postgraduate Certificate in Business program offered by the Faculty.
Scholarship value
Each scholarship for a Master’s degree will have a value of up to $5,000. The scholarship will be paid out pro-rata based on the student’s current enrolment. For example students who have already completed many courses when they apply, will only receive the stipend applicable to that stage of their enrolment. This will be paid as a stipend of up to four instalments:

$1,250 after the semester 1 census date during the student’s first year of study

$1,250 after the semester census date following the student’s successful completion of three (3) USQ courses

$1,250 after the semester census date following the student’s successful completion of six (6) USQ courses

$1,250 after the semester census date following the student’s successful completion of nine (9) USQ courses
-
Each scholarship for a Postgraduate Certificate in Business degree will have a value of $1,250 paid after the semester 1 census date during the student’s first year of study
Eligibility
Applicants must:
-
be citizens of Australia (or have permanent resident status) or be an international student studying on-campus
-
start or continue their postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Business, on-campus or external, in semester two, 2008 or semester one, 2009
-
provide information about financial hardship, personal circumstances and academic standing.
Students can demonstrate financial hardship and provide information about personal circumstances that influence their study. Students should maintain good academic standing, but the scholarship is not primarily based on academic achievement.
Conditions

Applicants for or continuing students in all postgraduate coursework Masters Degree and Postgraduate Certificate in Business programs offered by the Faculty of Business are eligible to apply for the scholarships.

The scholarship will be forfeited if either:

the recipient changes their program of study to a program offered by another Faculty
-
the recipient cancels their enrolment in the program; or
-
the recipient fails any course in the program.

Where recipients of scholarships change their program of study to another postgraduate degree program offered by the Faculty of Business, the scholarship will be retained.

The scholarship will be paid directly to the student in up to four instalments (as detailed above).

Scholarships are not transferable to other students in any circumstances.

The Faculty reserves the right not to award all or some of the scholarships in a given year.

Applications must be received by the closing date and in writing on the USQ application form provided. In addition, a Statement of Support signed by either an employer or independent referee must be supplied.

have met the course pre-requisite requirements for entry

meet the eligibility requirements.
