The Gowrie Scholarship Trust Fund
This fund has been established to assist lineal descendants of those members of the Australian Armed Services who served in a theatre of war during the 1939 - 1945 conflict. This fund provides a stipend of $4 000 per year over two years.
Scholarship value
The Gowrie Scholarship Trust Fund carries an award of $4000 per year over two years. This scholarship is paid annually each year and must be used for the pursuit of successful applicant's degree.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
-
have applied for or enrolled full-time in a Higher Degree by Research at the University of Southern Queensland
-
be a direct lineal descendant of a member of the Australian Armed Forces
-
commence the degree by the date specified by the University of Southern Queensland.

demonstrate outstanding research potential
Conditions

Applications including all supporting documentation must be received by the closing date and in writing on the USQ application forms provided

the scholarship will be paid as per the wishes of the Gowrie Scholarship Trust Fund

proof of military service or being a direct lineal descendant of a member of the Australian Armed Forces must be attached
-
scholarships are not transferable to other students in any circumstances
-
the scholarship will be forfeited if the recipient cancels his or her enrolment in the program at the University of Southern Queensland

scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, research capacity and relevance of proposed research to USQ's areas of research concentration
-
projects involving human or animal experimentation, including social/psychological research, must conform to NH&MRC guidelines and ethical clearance will be required prior to commencement of any such project.
Submitting an application
To apply for this scholarship, applicants must complete an Gowrie Scholarship Trust Fund application form (PDF 31 KB) and two (2) Academic Referee Reports (DOC 42 KB) must also be submitted. The original copy must be submitted to:
