In 2013, USQ will offer one Best Wilson Family Law Scholarship.

Best Wilson Family Law opened for business on 2 November 2009 with a new approach to providing family law services in Toowoomba. For the first time in Toowoomba, people with family-related legal issues can benefit from the services of a firm which practises exclusively in this area. Every member of their team has chosen family law as their area of practice, and is committed to providing the best possible service.

Value

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $5,000.

The successful applicant may be offered professional work experience in the year of the award, as mutually arranged.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

• be an Australian Citizen or have permanent resident status 
• continue their studies in a Bachelor of Law in Semester 1, 2013 
• have completed a minimum of 8 USQ courses 
• be enrolled at Toowoomba campus 
• be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in each of Semester 1 and Semester 2 
• be studying on-campus.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

•  submit a personal statement indicating: 
  • a description of their career aims and goals
  • how the Scholarship will assist them to achieve their future career plans in family law
• have a high level of academic achievement 
• demonstrate a history of involvement within their school, extracurricular activities or within their local community.
