Distance Education Study Support Scholarship

In 2014, USQ will offer 20 scholarships for students studying a bachelor degree by distance education (external or online).

Value

Each Scholarship will have a maximum value of $1,000.

This Scholarship provides for two award options:

• $250 per study unit
• 2 x $500 book bursaries at the USQ Bookshop.

Short-listed applicants who do not receive this scholarship or other scholarships will receive a $500 bursary paid after the last date to drop Semester 1 courses.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

• be an Australian Citizen or have permanent resident status 
• commence their studies in a bachelor degree at USQ in Semester 1, 2014 or 
• continue their studies in a bachelor degree in Semester 1 2014 
• be studying external or online.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

• provide evidence of financial hardship. Please refer to "Frequently asked questions - What documents should I attach to show financial hardship?" 
• demonstrate a history of involvement within their school, extracurricular activities or within their local community
• provide evidence of academic achievement, e.g. high school report card or post-secondary academic history, as applicable.

Students commencing study in Semester 1, 2014 must complete the USQ Scholarship Application Form (PDF* 147KB).

Students continuing study in Semester 1, 2014 must complete the USQ Continuing Students Scholarships Application Form (PDF* 95KB).
