Elite Athlete Scholarship

USQ will offer two scholarships in 2014 to students studying at USQ who are registered or eligible to register as a member of the USQ Elite Athlete Program. These scholarships will be awarded to:

• one student commencing study in 2014
• one student currently enrolled in a degree program at USQ in 2013.

Value

Each scholarship will have a maximum value of $1,000.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

• be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status
• be admitted to, or be eligible for admittance to, the USQ Elite Athlete Program
• commence their studies in a bachelor degree in Semester 1, 2014 or 
• continue their studies in a bachelor degree in Semester 1, 2014
• undertake a minimum of 4 study units during the 2014 academic year.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

• be admitted to the USQ Elite Athletes Program by commencement of Semester 1, 2014 
• demonstrate a history of involvement within their school, extracurricular activities or within their local community 
• provide evidence of academic achievement, e.g. high school report card or post-secondary academic history, as applicable; or 
• have a current Grade Point Average of at least 4.5, if a continuing USQ student
• submit a personal statement indicating:
  • a description of their career aims and goals
  • how they believe their academic achievement, community involvement and personal characteristics will contribute to their future success.

Students commencing study in Semester 1, 2014 must complete the USQ Scholarship Application Form (PDF* 147KB).

Students continuing study in Semester 1, 2014 must complete the USQ Continuing Students Scholarships Application Form (PDF* 95KB).
