Faculty of Education – Dean’s Bursary for Equity for continuing students

In 2013, the Faculty of Education will offer one Dean’s Bursary to a continuing student, enrolled in an undergraduate Education program, who is experiencing financial difficulties.

Value

The bursary will have a maximum value of $2500.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

  • continue their studies in a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Early Childhood in Semester 1, 2013 
  • have completed at least the first year of a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Early Childhood program 
  • be enrolled in up to 4 study units in each of Semester One and Semester Two of each year of study 
  • be studying on-campus or online
  • be experiencing financial hardship which may impact on their studies.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

  • submit a personal statement indicating: 
    • a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development 
    • a commitment to the pursuit of education as a career 
    • a reflection on your teacher education to date 
  • provide evidence of academic achievement eg. academic history 
  • provide evidence of financial hardship.  Please refer to "Frequently asked questions - What documents should I attach to show financial hardship?" 
  • provide evidence of activities undertaken that demonstrate significant and value-adding interactions with fellow students, the Faculty, University and the wider community 
  • provide other relevant supporting documentation.
