Faculty of Education – Dean’s Bursary for Equity for future students

In 2013, the Faculty of Education will offer one Dean’s Bursary to assist a commencing undergraduate student experiencing financial difficulty.

Value

The bursary will have a maximum value of $2500.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

  • commence their studies in a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Early Childhood in Semester 1, 2013 
  • be enrolled in up to 4 study units in each of Semester One and Semester Two of each year of study 
  • be studying on-campus or online.

Selection criteria

Applicants will

  • submit a personal statement indicating: 
    • understanding, enthusiasm and commitment to education 
    • personal attributes applicable to the profession 
    • commitment to pursuing a career in education 
    • details of activities that demonstrate involvement in professional/community organisations relevant to their development as an individual 
  • demonstrate a history of involvement within their school, extracurricular activities or within their local community
  • provide evidence of financial hardship.  Please refer to "Frequently asked questions - What documents should I attach to show financial hardship?" 
  • provide evidence of academic achievement eg High School report card or post-secondary academic history as applicable 
  • provide other relevant supporting documentation.
