Faculty of Education – Dean’s Bursary for Academic Excellence for future students

In 2013, The Faculty of Education will offer three Dean’s Bursary for Academic Excellence.

Value

The bursary will have a maximum value of $2500.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

  • have attended Year 12 in schools located in either the Darling Downs, South-West Queensland, Springfield or Fraser Coast area in 2012 
  • commence their studies in a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Early Childhood in Semester 1, 2013 
  • be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in each of Semester 1 and Semester 2 of each year of study 
  • be studying on-campus or online.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

  • submit a personal statement indicating: 
    • an understanding, enthusiasm and commitment to education
    • personal attributes applicable to the profession 
    • reasons for choosing to study education 
  • provide evidence of academic achievement eg. High School report card, awards/acknowledgements of outstanding achievements
  • demonstrate a history of involvement within their school, extracurricular activities or within their local community
  • provide evidence of sustained contributions to their school’s learning community (e.g. school captain, school forums, prefect, sport, debating, music, clubs, etc).
