GHD Bursaries in Engineering - Springfield

In 2013, USQ will offer two GHD Bursaries in Engineering to USQ Springfield students entering their final year of study. The Bursaries are awarded in the first Semester and are available to students pursuing an Associate Degree in Engineering.

GHD is one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and environmental consulting firms. Established in 1928, GHD employs more than 6000 people across five continents. GHD serves clients in the global markets of water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation.

Value

The bursary will have a maximum value of $2,500. 

The successful applicants may be offered professional work experience, as mutually arranged.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

  • be continuing full-time or part-time on-campus at Springfield, online or via distance education
  • be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status
  • be pursuing an Associate Degree in Engineering.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

  • demonstrate a high level of academic achievement recognised by a current Grade Point Average of at least 5.00 
  • submit a personal statement outlining the points listed in the selection criteria, including:
    - demonstrating a history of involvement with their local community in any social, sporting, educational, work-based, charitable, and/or extracurricular context
    - indicating their understanding of the consulting profession
    - describing their career aims and goals
    - explaining how this GHD Bursary will assist them in achieving their future goals, as well as why they would be a worthy recipient.
