GHD Bursaries in Engineering - Springfield
In 2013, USQ will offer two GHD Bursaries in Engineering to USQ Springfield students entering their final year of study. The Bursaries are awarded in the first Semester and are available to students pursuing an Associate Degree in Engineering.
GHD is one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and environmental consulting firms. Established in 1928, GHD employs more than 6000 people across five continents. GHD serves clients in the global markets of water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation.
Value
The bursary will have a maximum value of $2,500.
The successful applicant may be offered professional work experience in the year of the award, as mutually arranged.
Eligibility
To be eligible applicants must:
- be an Australian Citizen or have permanent resident status
- continue their studies in an Associate Degree in Engineering in Semester 1, 2013
- have completed a minimum of 8 USQ courses
- be enrolled at Springfield Campus
- be enrolled in up to 4 study units in Semester One
- be studying on-campus, external or online.
Selection criteria
Applicants will:
- submit a personal statement indicating:
- a description of their career aims and goals
- how the Bursary will assist them to achieve their future career plans
- their understanding of the consulting profession
- industry related work experience undertaken and briefly describe what they learnt or enjoyed about it
- why they would be a worthy recipient
- have a current Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 (desirable)
- demonstrate a history of involvement within their school, extracurricular activities or within their local community.
