Go WEST Equity and Social Justice Scholarship

In Semester 2, 2013, Go WEST (Women in Engineering, Science and Technology), in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering and Surveying, will offer one Go WEST Equity and Social Justice Scholarship.

Value

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $8,000.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

• be female 
• be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status 
• be from a rural area within Queensland 
• be experiencing financial hardship 
• commence their studies in an undergraduate degree in the areas of Engineering (including Surveying), Science (excluding Nursing and Psychology), Mathematics or Technology, in Semester Two, 2013
• be enrolled in up to 2 study units in each of Semester One and Semester Two of each year of study (ie. part-time)
• be enrolled external or online.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

• demonstrate a history of involvement within their school, extracurricular activities or within their local community 
• provide evidence of academic achievement, e.g. high school report card; or post-secondary academic history as applicable 
• provide evidence of financial hardship. Refer to "Frequently asked questions - What documents should I attach to show financial hardship?"
