In 2012, Go WEST (Women in Engineering, Science and Technology), in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering and Surveying, will offer one Go WEST Equity and Social Justice Scholarship.

Value

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $10,000.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

• be commencing part-time via distance education or online in Semester 2, 2012; or
• be continuing part-time via distance education or online having commenced in Semester 1, 2012
• be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status
• be female 
• be commencing or continuing a bachelor degree in the areas of Engineering, Surveying, Science (excluding Nursing and Psychology), Mathematics or Technology
• be located in any rural or remote area in Queensland, outside of major metropolitan areas 
• be experiencing financial hardship 
• demonstrate a high level of academic achievement or high level of engagement in other school, community or sporting activities.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

• provide evidence of academic achievement
• provide proof of financial hardship.
