The Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship financially assists Indigenous students on low incomes with higher education costs. This scholarship is aimed at students looking to undertake or already studying an Indigenous Enabling Program such as the Indigenous Higher Education Pathways Program (IHEPP). Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, and do not need to be repaid. The value of a Commonwealth Scholarship is NOT considered income for Centrelink purposes. The Indigenous Enabling Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship is for Indigenous students from regional and remote areas who need to move away from home to undertake higher education.
$4939 per year for up to one year.

A map detailing regional and remote areas according to the Australian Standard Geographic Classification (ASGC) can be accessed from the ‘Search the Map’ tab at: www.doctorconnect.gov.au
A student is ineligible if they have come from an area belonging to the major city classification.
