Indigenous USQ Student Scholarship

USQ will offer three scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students commencing full-time on-campus study at USQ in 2013. These scholarships will be awarded to an applicant from each of the USQ Toowoomba, Fraser Coast and Springfield campuses.

Value

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $6,000.

Short-listed applicants who do not receive this scholarship or other scholarships will receive a $500 bursary paid after the last date to drop Semester 1 courses.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status
  • be Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • commence their studies in a bachelor degree program in Semester 1, 2013 
  • be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in each of Semester 1 and Semester 2 of each year of study 
  • be studying on-campus 
  • be enrolled at Toowoomba, Springfield or Fraser Coast Campus.

Selection criteria

Applicants will:

  • demonstrate a history of involvement within their school, extracurricular activities or within their local community 
  • provide evidence of academic achievement eg High School report card; or post-secondary academic history as applicable.
