| At the University of Southern Queensland we are committed to encouraging and supporting Indigenous people attending and completing university studies.
That’s why we have created an event especially designed to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to see university as a choice for them. The event is designed to inspire Indigenous students from Years 7 to 12 to dream beyond any perceived limitations and to encourage them to attend and complete higher education.
Indigenous Connections will consist of motivational presentations from successful Indigenous role models and University Activity Sessions presented by USQ lecturers and teaching staff from a range of study areas. Attendees will also be involved in fun cultural activities like traditional games and dance; bush foods and creating art and music.
