Research CentresStaff from the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences are actively involved in different USQ research centres including: Centre for Systems Biology(CSBi)There has been a number of changes to research Centres at USQ. Members of this new Centre were previously members of the Centre for Rural and Environmental Biotechnology (CREB) and the Centre for Biomedical Research as well as some new members from other Departments of the Faculty of Sciences. The Centre for Systems Biology undertakes research in close cooperation with the Leslie Research Centre and other industry and research bodies. The Centre has a distinguished reputation in such areas as grains research, fermentation technology and mammalian physiology. Australian Centre for Sustainable Catchments (ACSC)The Australian Centre for Sustainable Catchments (ACSC) will focus on and underpin the profitability and sustainability of water and catchment management in Australia (Queensland specifically). Some staff and postgraduate students who were previously associated with The Land Use Research Centre (LURC) which is no longer in operation are now members of this new Centre. |
