Student clinical experience
In addition to lectures, tutorials and practical sessions during the Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-Registration) you will need to complete six clinical courses, with a total of 800 hours (840 with orientation/debriefing).
Guide to Clinical Placement
To assist students with understanding all aspects of the clinical placements that are an integral part of the Bachelor of Nursing, we require that all students read the "Guide to Clinical Placement" produced by the USQ Clinical Team.
This document has been created to explain in detail how clinical placements are handled within the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at USQ.
As from Semester 1, 2009 onwards, all current students are required to return the declaration (located in the first few pages of the Guide) to confirm that they have read and understood the clinical placement process.
If you do not submit the declaration, you will not be able to enter preferences into SONIA (web based clinical allocation system) as it is now one of the Compulsory Clinical Requirements.
