Research
Faculty members undertake research projects in areas of their expertise. The Department's recognised strength in the area of nursing in rural and remote areas is enhanced through its association with the Centre for Rural and Remote Area Health (CRRAH).
The Centre for Rural and Remote Area Health (CRRAH) is located in Toowoomba, Queensland. It is a jointly-badged Centre of the University of Southern Queensland and the University of Queensland. The CRRAH is committed to enhancing the health of people living in rural and remote areas of Australia by supporting the work of health policy planners, rural and remote area health professionals, health workers, and consumers with relevant research, research training, and consultancies.
Departmental staff regularly publish books, journal articles and conference papers.
Prospective postgraduate research students are encouraged to contact potential academic supervisors directly to discuss available research projects and areas of interest. Entry into research postgraduate programs is dependent on availability of an appropriate academic supervisor. The Office of Research and Higher Degrees manages the enrolment, progress and examination of all research higher degree students.
