Departments

The Faculty of Sciences consists of four departments:

Department of Biological and Physical Sciences

The Department of Biological and Physical Sciences offers a range of academic programs including Biomedical Science, Biology (Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Human Biology, Human Physiology), and Climatology.  Levels of study begin at the certificate level through to a choice of Masters programs and Doctoral studies.

Department of Mathematics and Computing

The Department of Mathematics and Computing teaches in a range of undergraduate and postgraduate areas including Mathematics, Statistics and Information Technology with specialisations in Applied Computer Science, and Networking and Security, and the cutting edge area of Bioinformatics. Combined degrees in Information Technology are also offered with the student choosing a second degree from the areas of Science, Engineering, Business, Education or Arts. 

Department of Nursing and Midwifery

The Department of Nursing and Midwifery offers a Bachelor of Nursing degree, and a number of postgraduate multi-specialist programs. The Bachelor of Nursing program must be studied on-campus, either full-time or part-time. This program is offered in Toowoomba and at USQ's Fraser Coast Campus in Hervey Bay. Both campuses boast state of the art facilities, well-equipped laboratories and simulated nursing wards.

Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology caters for those students wishing to become professional and registered psychologists, and for students wanting to undertake studies in the area of psychology in combination with a broader discipline. For example, students may wish to study psychology to complement their studies in the area of marketing or teaching. All psychology programs are available full-time or part-time, externally or on-campus.
